My puppies are checked out by one of our vets and given a health certificate certifying they are healthy to make the flight and also at what temperature restrictions, if any. We fly Continental and insure our puppies. Continental assures us that our puppies are never left out on the hot or cold tarmack or in a hot cargo area. They are always in a climate controlled environment - even on the plane. They do not fly with the luggage. Locked safely inside their crates, the crates are strapped into a bay in the cargo area of the plane and the temperature is the same as in the cabin of the plane.
Continental Airlines is shutting down operations in Texarkana, AR September 15, 2008. We will still be able to ship your puppy, but as of right now, we are unsure from where we will be shipping. It will be one of three places, being Shreveport, LA, Little Rock, AR or Dallas, TX. Depending on where we ship from, the puppy will either be flown into the Houston, TX or Cleveland, Ohio hub where there are kennels on location at each. If there is an unforeseen delay at either hub, the pets are tended to by the on site kennel. Puppy would get fed, watered and the attendant would make sure any of their needs are met. You can see the info on their website at Continental Airlines Traveling with Animals.
When you are sure that you want your puppy, I will call to make sure the airlines flies into your airport with pets. Once we know that and have received your deposit, we reserve it's flight. I will need to know a couple of dates that will work out for you to pick up your puppy from the airport. I call and make the reservation then email your puppy's itenerary so you can print it. Once I make sure your puppy is in the air the day of flight, I will call you and tell you your puppy is on its way! I continually track your puppy until you receive it at the airport. I make sure puppy arrives on time and departs Houston on time. If there are any delays, I will find out the reason for the delay and approximately how long the delay might be then let you know immediately. When you pick up puppy from the airport, I ask that you call me as soon as you can to let me know that you got him or her. You know, I loved your puppy first and I worry until puppy is with you!
You can track your puppy's flight from the Continental website or in real time at Flight Stats.com. Under Flight Status, you can click on "By Flight" and enter puppy's flight # (that will be given to you on itenerary). Then click on "Track in Real Time". This is a neat site and I enjoy watching the puppy's plane as it flies!
All fees, including sale price, shipping and handling charges are payable prior to shipment of puppy. I will be happy to hold your puppy, if needed, for up to one week after he or she is ready to leave. After that period of time, there will be a $4.00 per day boarding fee applied unless we have made other arrangements. This fee, too, must be paid in full before shipping.
Our puppies that we estimate will weigh over 6 pounds as an adult can ship between 8-10 weeks. In the best interest of a puppy that will be smaller, we will ship only after 12 weeks. We have been charging $250 to ship from Texarkana but will have to travel farther so our shipping price is now $275 (effective immediately) to ship our puppies that are under 5 pounds when they leave. Over 5 pounds is an additional $50.
