People who are local sometimes ask to visit our puppies and see our kennel. We have been advised by our vet that the general public should not be allowed inside our kennel or the main area in our home where we house the mommies and babies. Puppies should not be brought out for prospective buyers to see until they are at least 5 to 6 weeks of age with some immunity built up against infectious diseases and illnesses. There is a real danger that diseases can migrate into our kennel as well as our home and puppies that are not yet vaccinated will be susceptible to these viruses and bacteria.
We provide photos of our puppies and are continuing to add our dogs on our website. I can always email pictures of the parents if they are not on the site yet. If you have reserved a puppy with us, once the litter is born we send out photos by e-mail each week so families can watch the puppies grow! Once the puppies are about 6 weeks old, if you are on a reservation list and you are local, you will be able to come and visit the puppies in an area separate from their main living area.
We realize families would like to come and visit to see puppies and our dogs, but in order to protect other people's puppies and our own dogs we have been advised that we must follow this limited visitor's policy. We heard of a story once where there was an instance of a terrible tragedy where an entire litter of puppies and their mother died in a three day period after having been accidentally exposed to parvo virus brought in by a visitor who had been to a rescue center before visiting the kennel. The risks are very real.
Thank you for understanding our protective policy. Our kennel is clean, well ventilated, heated, air conditioned and cleaned daily. Our adult dogs are very healthy, vaccinated and dewormed regularly as well as groomed and bathed often. We provide optimal conditions in our home as well for healthy dogs and puppies. We would love for people to be able to come in and see our facilities that we are very proud of, but simply cannot do this if we are to protect people's puppies and our dogs!
